RootCrak Malware Scanner deploys lightweight agents on your Linux or macOS hosts. Each agent runs ClamAV-backed scanning against the paths you choose, reports infected files to your dashboard, and supports manual or scheduled runs. Built for operators who need continuous host malware coverage without standing up a full endpoint suite.
What you get
- One-command install of a RootCrak malware agent on the target server
- ClamAV signature engine with agent-side progress and result streaming
- Dashboard visibility: agent status, last scan, findings, and history
- Manual scans on demand plus schedule-friendly daemon control
- Plan-gated access so capacity matches your subscription
How it works
- Sign in to the RootCrak dashboard and open Malware Scanner.
- Register a scanner for a path (for example
/var/wwwor a home directory tree). - Copy the install command and run it on the server as a privileged user.
- The agent installs dependencies, connects back to RootCrak, and becomes available for scans.
- Trigger a scan from the dashboard or via local control commands. Findings appear with file path, malware name, and severity.
Plan gating
Malware Scanner is a paid-platform capability. Free-tier accounts can explore the product story and upgrade path; deploying and operating live agents requires an eligible plan (Pro and above for full agent features in the current product matrix). Limits on concurrent agents and scan cadence follow your subscription. See Pricing for current tiers (Free, Starter, Pro, Business).
Security notes
- Install tokens are credentials — treat them like passwords and do not post them publicly.
- Agent artifacts under
/agent/*are checksum-pinned; prefer the dashboard-generated install command. - Scans run on your host; only scan metadata and findings are sent to RootCrak for reporting.
- RootCrak Security BV (Belgium) operates the control plane. Privacy details: Privacy Policy.
